Chestnut Bowl 9”

This Chestnut Bowl is a very rare piece and has spectacular natural blue stain.  American Chestnut a was favorite wood of colonial America that once comprised 60% of eastern forests.  Unfortunately most American Chestnut was wiped out by a Chestnut blight in the early 20th Century   The blue stain was caused by a fungal infection when the tree was alive, increasing its resistance to rot and insect infestation.   This is a very special one of a kind piece that is sure to delight.
