Flame Maple — Ribboned, Dynamic, and Alive Flame Maple is known for its linear, ribboned figure — bands of chatoyance that shift and glow as the bowl moves. This piece displays sweeping flame across the entire surface, creating a sense of motion and depth that changes with angle and lighting.

Figure & Grain Highlights • Bold sweeping flame — long, continuous ribbons with strong clarity • Bright chatoyance — transitions from gold to warm amber under changing light • Small foot design — visually lifts the bowl and enhances flame movement • Clean interior and exterior fields — uninterrupted flame coverage • Balanced 9.4″ diameter — ideal for display or functional use • Substantial 1.6 lbs — grounded and sculptural

Artisan Craftsmanship Every Talking Wood Studio bowl is shaped one at a time by artisan Ben Balzer. This piece was refined through progressive hand sanding, cured oils, and the full Beall Buffing System, resulting in a glass‑smooth surface that amplifies the flame figure. No mass production. No duplicates. No second editions.
