From its defined circular base, the walls rise in a broad, gently curved sweep toward an open rim. Fine grain travels across the exterior in softly layered lines, with golden-amber highlights giving way to deeper reddish-brown passages as the surface turns away from the light.

Viewed from above, the composition becomes quieter. An elongated oval of grain rests within the interior, surrounded by delicate contour lines and small dark beauty marks. These natural accents add a subtle counterpoint to the orderly grain, inviting the eye to move between the calm center and the rising walls.

At 11 inches across and 4 inches high, this one-of-a-kind artwork by Ben Balzer has a taller, more ascending presence than its compact footprint might suggest. Its appeal lies in that balance: an intimate interior held within a confident silhouette, warm color expressed through a clean sculptural form.

Why This Piece Is Exceptional

Ascending silhouette — gently flaring walls rise from a defined circular base, giving the piece a poised architectural presence.

Golden-amber surface — luminous warm passages contrast with the deeper reddish-brown interior.

Quiet oval grain — elongated contour lines create a composed focal point within the bowl.

Individual beauty marks — scattered dark accents bring natural character to the fine Cherry grain.

Balanced display proportions — a 10.7-inch diameter and 3.9-inch height offer both intimacy and sculptural presence.

One-of-a-kind fine art — its particular arrangement of grain, color, and natural markings gives this sculpture its own identity.

Dimensions & Details

Diameter: 10.7″ (27.1 cm)

Height: 3.9″ (9.8 cm)

Depth: 2.8″ (7.2 cm)

Weight: 1.3lbs (598 g)

Item: 11120

Artist: Ben Balzer

Completion Date: 2026

Price: $249.00

Availability: Only 1 available

Collector Notes

This Cherry bowl rewards a setting that reveals both its rising profile and its interior grain:

A console with breathing room around the sculptural outline.

A low gallery shelf that offers a view into the interior.

A tabletop composition pairing warm wood with pale stone.

A curated interior with neutral textures that let the amber color stand out.

A personal collection exploring the relationship between natural grain and sculptural form.

Gentle directional lighting can emphasize the sweep of the walls and the fine lines across the exterior.
