Overview

This Black Walnut bowl holds a warm, intricate field of grain within a border of deep brown curves. Dark lines follow the interior walls, framing a lighter center where fine grain drifts through irregular swirls and softly interwoven patterns. Across a portion of the interior, the figuring becomes more animated, gathering into rippled, feathery passages that contrast with the quieter grain beside them. This variation gives the composition its individual rhythm, drawing the eye between flowing lines and concentrated areas of figure.
