Black Walnut Bowl — 11″ — Ebony & Ivory Crest Edition — One‑of‑One

$365.00

This handcrafted Black Walnut bowl blends deep espresso heartwood with bright sapwood highlights, creating a striking ebony‑and‑ivory contrast across its sculpted form. Individually shaped by artisan Ben Balzer, this 11″ centerpiece offers bold visual character, balanced proportions, and a refined, gallery‑grade finish.

Black Walnut — Dramatic Contrast & Natural Elegance Black Walnut is prized for its rich color and expressive grain transitions. In this Ebony & Ivory Crest Edition, the bowl displays a rare interplay between dark heartwood and lighter sapwood, producing a naturally occurring two‑tone palette that collectors value for its dramatic visual impact and organic beauty.

Figure & Grain Highlights Deep espresso heartwood anchors the bowl with warmth and depth. Bright ivory sapwood forms a clean, natural highlight band. Cresting grain motion flows upward along the 4″ height, giving the bowl lift and sculptural presence. The contrast intensifies under changing light, making the piece visually dynamic from every angle. The 11.8″ diameter and 4″ height create a strong, balanced profile, while the 1.5 lb weight keeps the bowl stable and easy to handle.

Artisan Craftsmanship Every Talking Wood Studio bowl is shaped one at a time by artisan Ben Balzer. This piece was refined through progressive hand sanding, cured oils, and the full Beall Buffing System, resulting in a glass‑smooth surface that highlights the natural warmth and contrast of Black Walnut. No mass production. No duplicates. No second editions.
