Pomelle Sapele Bowl — Master Grade (11″) — Quilted Ember Edition — One‑of‑One

$1,050.00

This Master Grade Pomelle Sapele bowl is turned from an extraordinary single‑log provenance, carrying dense quilted figure that moves like embers beneath the surface. Individually shaped by artisan Ben Balzer, this 11″ centerpiece radiates warmth, depth, and rare three‑dimensional movement found only in the highest‑grade Sapele. This piece is extremely rare, representing one of the strongest quilted ember patterns produced at Talking Wood Studio.

Pomelle Sapele — Rare, Quilted, and Three‑Dimensional Pomelle Sapele is one of the rarest figure types in the Sapele family. Unlike ribbon figure, Pomelle produces bubbled, quilted movement, rolling three‑dimensional depth, and undulating patterns that shift with light. This bowl displays that figure with exceptional clarity — a true collector‑grade specimen.

Figure & Grain Highlights Dense quilted interior creates deep, rolling 3D figure that pulls the eye inward. Smoldering chatoyant sidewalls produce an amber‑red shimmer that glows under directional light. Rare single‑log provenance ensures consistent figure across interior and base. The substantial 2.7 lb weight gives the bowl a grounded presence, while the clean, uninterrupted grain field shows no visual breaks or weak zones.

Artisan Craftsmanship Every Talking Wood Studio bowl is shaped one at a time by artisan Ben Balzer. This piece was refined through progressive hand‑sanding, cured oils, and the full Beall Buffing System, resulting in a glass‑smooth surface that amplifies the natural glow of Pomelle Sapele. No mass production. No duplicates. No second editions.
